A perfect spa weekend break

2-storey, 3-bedroom barn conversion near Wells, Somerset

Location

The Cider Press at Wellesley Park is located just east of Wells, England’s smallest city, which is renowned for its magnificent Cathedral and medieval market place. The beautiful cities of Bristol and Bath are each just 25 miles away. Other nearby attractions include Cheddar Gorge, Glastonbury Tor, the Wookey Hole Caves, as well as luxury shopping at Kilver Court, the Mulberry Factory Shop in Shepton Mallet and Clarks Shopping Village in Street. A car is recommended. This is a rural location. There is parking in front of The Cider Press for 2 cars and additional visitor/guest parking.

Ground Floor

The ground floor is a large L-shaped open plan design, comprising comfortable seating area looking out onto the patio, large dining area (together with comfortable day bed), and a fully fitted kitchen.

Kitchen

The modern kitchen, complete with black granite countertops, is fully equiped with top of the range NEFF appliances including gas hobs, double electric oven, microwave, dishwasher and washing machine/tumble dryer.  There is also an LG American style side-by-side fridge freezer.

First Floor

Upstairs you will find three double bedrooms, one with ensuite bathroom, and a family bathroom. The Cider Press sleeps up to six in three double bedrooms. The master bedroom has its own ensuite shower & toilet and also boasts floor to ceiling windows – to make the most of the breathtaking view of Wells Cathedral – and a superkingsized bed, whilst the second bedroom has a kingsized bed and the third bedroom contains a standard double bed; unfortunately none of them are convertible into twin beds.  The property features blackout blinds or curtains in all of the bedrooms, ensuring a comfortable night’s sleep.

Facilities

  • Underfloor heating ensures a constant temperature within the house throughout the year.
  • Private patio garden with outside table & chairs.
  • Allocated parking.
  • Enjoy the beautiful gardens  and access to the communal grounds and woodlands. There are 17.5 acres of grounds to explore on foot or by bike.

Spa

As a guest at The Cider Press, you’ll have use of the Wellesley Park spa, featuring:

  • Heated indoor swimming pool;
  • Turkish steam room;
  • Sauna;
  • Gym;
  • Library/reading room;
  • Tennis court (tennis racquets and balls provided).

Entertainment/Technology

The Cider Press is fitted with a Sonos sound system with Spotify Premium included for your enjoyment. There is a 40” Sony flatscreen TV in the lounge area, with Blu-Ray DVD player and Apple TV for your use and a smaller TV with built-in DVD in the master bedroom. The Apple TV gives you access to Netflix, Amazon Prime and iTunes using your own account details. A Bose sound dock in double bedroom and Roberts DAB Radio in king bedroom both use the 30-pin connector NOT the lightning connector. They can be used with adaptors. Wifi is provided. Please note that internet speeds at The Cider Press at Wellesley Park are not comparable with those available in major cities. This can impact on download time and streaming capabilities. Mobile coverage can be patchy as this is a rural location.

Children’s facilities

Children and babies are very welcome.  One travel cot, one highchair and a buggy are available for your use. You will need to bring your own bedding for the travel cot. We can also provide stairgates, potty and step stool – please let us know your requirements with your booking request.

Pets

Sorry, no pets.

No wheelchair access

Unfortunately due to the way the staircase has been built and the lack of downstairs bathroom facilities, The Cider Press is not suitable for wheelchair users.
